Yes the shift fork pads should come in any good master rebuild kit.

I see the kit from Novak with Syncro rings is like $350! :-o

The master rebuild kit from JBY is like $169 but I don't think all parts are in it..

I bought my fork inserts from bronco graveyard, but I just checked and they aren't listed anymore, strange! This place has them: Manual Transmissions by Unit Code: NP435: Manual Transmission Parts - Online

My reverse gear looked like that too, still works ok though.

NP 435 Deluxe Rebuild Kit - WILD HORSES Early Ford Bronco Parts

N.P. 435 Master Rebuild Kit

Which is better? What else would I need in either one of these kits?

Trying to find a low/reverse gear.

Neither of those are the complete rebuild kits. You want a kit that includes all the synchro parts. Like one of these. I just don't about the bearing quality in this kit. I don't know who makes the bearings that are in this kit.

You've got the transmission out, now is the time to fix it! Having to tear the truck back apart because you tried to save $80.00 just sounds like a bad idea to me. But it's your truck do what you want.

Well I guess I can put it in. Hell, might as well fix it right the first time then go back later.

It's called the Low/Reverse gear?

If gas gets up to $4+/gallon...it probably will be sitting some more than driving.

One company I would avoid is Drivetrain America. I called them and asked specifically if there were any Chinese made parts. I was told some of the gaskets perhaps but none of the bearings would be. After receiving the kit sure enough the first bearing I looked at was made in China. It literally took weeks to get the refund.

Bronco Graveyard also has transmission rebuild kits. I would verify on the phone what the status of their current supplier is. Though their website may say one thing, the reality is they may be using a new supplier and the website may be incorrect.
dear blackfoot big block-

im very sorry to hear that you had an issue with our business Drivertrain America, i am the owner , and i would like to personally apologize for any problems that you had with us , i pride myself on putting customers first and servicing them , normally all of our Timken Dt components kits do include american made bearings , like timken, koyo , ntn , skf , sometimes our suppliers may have to substitute a bearing if the standard bearings in the kits are on backorder , please accept my personal apology for any problem or inconveinence this caused , as a family owned business my goal is total customer satisfaction in every way , if there is something i can ever do to make it right please let me know and i will absolutely make it right with you , thank you for your business
