02 f-250 7.3l price?

Dealership has a 2002 ford f-250 turbo diesel with the 7.3l. has 4 full doors, small lift kit. Body in great shape. Some rust under (given i live where it snows)

158k miles on it...test drove it..shifted nice, sounded good, no leaks noises

lift kit few years old, western peek performance kit.

Asking 14,900, talked to guy and got 15k otd with taxes etc..still seems expensive...?

I would say that it is not too overpriced, but I think $12000 is more reasonable!
GOOD LUCK!
I have an 02 F-350 and love it!
170K miles and still going strong!

All depends on your market area and if you really have to have it

I paid $14 (asking $15k) for my 2002 F250 7.3. It came with 140k miles on the clock and a trans with 2000 miles after a full rebuild by a reputable company.

I just bought this for 11k at the local Ford deal.2002 Lariat with7.3, it's a one owner ,225,000 miles always and TN truck. Some performance extras -chip,exhaust,AFE air cleaner, and leveling kit. Plus they put in new front wheel bearings ,steering gear box and drag link. I added the running boards and bull bar.

So overall you think the 2002 7.3l are pretty good trucks?

Sounds like at 150k miles these are just broken in according to other sites/info on google. People say not much goes wrong with them, and 7.3l is one great motor, it gets good gas mileage but doesnt have the power of the newer diesels these days.

14k ish seems like a fair price for this truck according to what ive seen

2002 is my favorite year for 7.3.
2002 got a bunch of small extra features.

I traded a 96 F-250 PSD with 285,000 miles on it. I had four years, still ran like the day I bought it. I have heard late 99 and 00 motors have forged connecting rods that are stronger then the 01-03 models. The 7.3 is just a great engine and easier to work on than the 6.0,6.4. Only thing I miss is the Volt gauge,of course the tranny temp is nice also.

2002 has a digital odometer which you can change to a volt meter.

Also, the tranny temp gauge is worth less. By the time it moves to a higher temp, your transmission has damage done. I'm not sold on the PMR vs Forged rod debate.. But people have called me crazy on simpler things.

I tough San Francisco is Central California
Can't find 7.3 right now, but here is 6l for less than 1/2 quoted price.
Crew cabs in CA sell at premium as people use them for recreation. The work trucks with 7.3 sell in 4 grands range.
2003 Ford F250 Super-Duty Crew Cab Longbed Lariat 4WD (Diesel!)

EDIT found few 7.3

thefirst one you listed (03) was a first gen 6.0
the rest were all decent , but 99's, last one was a std cab 2 wd
I def agree that the 02/03 as the BEST years for the 7.3
Lariat trim level has the most convient/comfort features
