For me it's a Glock 22 that fits in the upper door pocket quite well.

Exactly! As a matter of fact I feel very safe out on the roads because I don't have to rely on trusting strangers or the police to keep my family safe.

I don't regularly leave a pistol in my Ex b/c I almost always carry it on my person, but if I do have to leave it in the car, I also put it under the cup holders. This way if someone breaks into the car they are much less likely to look there than in the glove box, center console, or door pockets - but it is still easily accesable.

I carried some beer for my buddies that stole it from the snack shack on a golf course at 2am in Danville Ca. when I was 18 and since I participated in it they charged me with burglary so I guess I would be an "ex felon with a gun" if I got caught with one.

How does that old saying go "An unarmed man is a subject, an armed man is a citizen."

Fellow i know lived in Chicago and owned a stone business and said they never drove anywhere w/out a side arm. Said he had pulled up to an intersection and a big dude climbed up on his running board on his truck and just stared at him for a sec and then moved on. Must have sensed he had a revolver eying his belly button behind the door.

My bro in law always carries and I kinda laughed at him but now all you guys got me thinkin'

As my signature in another forum reads:

I don't carry a gun because I feel inadequate.
I carry a gun because when I'm suddenly faced with three armed hoods that mean me and my family harm, if I'm unarmed I am inadequate.

When asked why I carry my answer is better to have it and not need it then need it and not have it!
