need to get my truck back home(suggestions)

I have a 02 f-350 dually that decided to drop the tranny 5 hours away from where I live. I need to get it home but the wrecker company wants 1800 dollars to tow it here. Anyone got any ideas? I tried uhaul but they said they dont have anything that will handle that load. Any ideas?

maybe rent a penske truck and trailer. tell them you need to flat tow a suv. They would most likely say no to a 350 dually. Good luck

wow its awesome all you guys are so willing to help. I got in touch with a auto transport company and am having it hauled for $460. I guess that is resonable. I would like to thank you guys for the offer of helping me. I will be pulling out the tranny and flushing the lines and installing a diffrent cooler. Anyone got any experience with doing this? What am I up against. Last one I pulled was a c-6. My truck is a 4x4 so I will be dealing with a transfer case. any advise on pulling and putting back the tranny?

a good trans jack. you will have to drop the t-case to get it out. i think you have to raise the truck 14" to get out not %100 on that, when i pulled one it was from the front.

Wow! I'm impressed how willing all you folks are to help out this guy! Reminds me of all my active duty military friends. It goes to show the type of people that are on this site and the breed of people that own PSD trucks!!
