06 Expy, Brake pedal went to the floor with little braking

Got a call from my wife yesterday saying that she was coming up to a stop sign and when she went to push on the brake pedal it went right down to the floor. The brakes did work a little but not like they should. When I got home that night I tried a couple of things. With the engine not running I pushed up the brake pedal. The pedal only traveled a little bit and held pressure. I started the engine and tried to push on the pedal again. This time it was very soft and never built up pressure and I was able to push the pedal down to the floor. It didn't just drop to the floor but it did end up at the floor. Took it for a drive and brakes felt soft, pedal never would really build up pressure and once it did the same thing that happened to my wife. Pedal went right to the floor. I check the fluid, the level was between the close to the min line. Add fluid but brakes still felt the same. Please let me know what you think and thank you for your time.

Brakes

There are a number o things that could be causing the problem, the most expensive one would be the master cylinder.
It is very possible air got in to the system if the brake fluid was low.
I would start with the cheap stuff first, by replacing the brake fluid, this way you will need to bleed the system starting with the further wheel from the master cylinder ( Passenger rear , then drivers rear, passenger front then driver's front )
While the wheel is off , check if any brake cylinder at the wheel has a leak.

Sounds like a rear brake line blew out.

Why do you think that it is a rear brake line? Not questioning, just wondering.

When a rear line blows you will still get something out of the front brakes within the last inch or so of brake pedal travel.
