T-18 yoke. long tail shaft. what fits?

I'm new .Building a ratrod, and got a T-18 out of a 1988 F-150 cheap. It's a 2wd trans with the 12" tailshaft. I'm putting it behind a mild 460.. what I don't have is a yoke for it, and I'm not sure what fits. The output shaft appears to be a slip yoke type, but I thought all the T-18's had a fixed yoke. I found 1 refrence to the long tailshaft T-18 being a slip type...

What do I need and where can I get it?. I'v found the fixed yoke, at Dennys driveshaft, and it looks like it could work, but I want to verify before I spend $75 on it

The Rat is becoming a mix of whatever I can find cheap. Cab is custom built ( 1930'sish ), front frame is 1994 Ranger, rear frame is 2x3 rectangle tubing, jegster ladder bars with coilovers on a 1995 Ford Explorer 8.8" rear.. 460 is out of a 1975 Lincoln, and I was going to use the C6 it came with, but I think it needs rebuilt. I want to shift gears anyway... My current DD is a 1995 K1500, 5spd ( was cheap ) but I had 3 Rangers prior

Bump. I have no idea, but that is an awesome looking project! I wouldn't think it would matter as long as you had a custom shaft made.

heres the entire build if your interested. Hot Rod Photo Journal - matt167's Journal

it looks like it would work, as the spline count is supposto be the same between the 2, just seems like it's too short. I'm going tomorrow back to the junkyard I got it from to see if they have the driveshaft and yoke from the truck it came from. the trans was a shelved unit, but they should be able to trace the driveshaft for the truck, providing they still have it... Car-part.com doesent catagorize yokes correctly

I think I found the right yoke. Junkyard is also searching ( they have a second trans )..

Yoke specs for the bolt on yoke as per Northern Driveline are
<table><tbody><tr><td>U-Joint Series </td> <td> </td> <td> 1330F </td> </tr> <tr> <td> Spline Major Diameter </td> <td> </td> <td> 1.220 </td> </tr> <tr> <td> Spline Count </td> <td> </td> <td> 28.000 </td> </tr> <tr> <td> Spline Type </td> <td> </td> <td> Involute </td> </tr> <tr> <td> Spline Pressure Angle </td> <td> </td> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> Ground Hub Diameter </td> <td> R </td> <td> 1.500 </td> </tr> <tr> <td> Length Thru Bore </td> <td> Q </td> <td> 0.000 </td> </tr> <tr> <td> Centerline of Joint to End of Spline </td> <td> S </td> <td> 4.750 </td> </tr> <tr> <td> Universal Joint Retaining Width </td> <td> E </td> <td> 3.625 </td> </tr> <tr> <td> Universal Joint Bearing Diameter </td> <td> D </td> <td> 1.125 </td> </tr> <tr> <td> Counterbore Depth </td> <td> </td> <td> 0.000 </td> </tr> <tr> <td> Joint Angle </td> <td> </td> <td> 0.000 </td> </tr> <tr> <td> Style </td> <td> </td> <td> U Bolt </td> </tr> <tr> <td> Compatible U-Joint Kits </td> <td> </td> <td> SPI-5-1204X </td> </tr> <tr> <td> U-Bolt or Strap Assembly </td> <td> </td> <td> Included </td> </tr> <tr> <td> Bare Yoke part number (if assembly - included) </td> <td> </td> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> Slinger Part Number (if assembly - included) </td> <td> </td> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> Notes </td> <td> </td> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> Cast/Forged </td> <td> </td> <td> </td> </tr> </tbody></table>
Then they have the specs on a C4 yoke which crosses about the same. just it takes 1310 ujoints and not 1330's

<table><tbody><tr><td>U-Joint Series </td> <td> </td> <td> 1310 </td> </tr> <tr> <td> Spline Major Diameter </td> <td> </td> <td> 1.220 </td> </tr> <tr> <td> Spline Count </td> <td> </td> <td> 28.000 </td> </tr> <tr> <td> Spline Type </td> <td> </td> <td> Involute </td> </tr> <tr> <td> Universal Joint Retaining Width </td> <td> E </td> <td> 3.469 </td> </tr> <tr> <td> Universal Joint Bearing Diameter </td> <td> D </td> <td> 1.062 </td> </tr> <tr> <td> Centerline of Joint to End of Spline </td> <td> J </td> <td> 6.000 </td> </tr> <tr> <td> Ground Hub Diameter </td> <td> R </td> <td> 1.500 </td> </tr> <tr> <td> Counterbore Diameter </td> <td> </td> <td> 0.000 </td> </tr> <tr> <td> Counterbore Depth </td> <td> </td> <td> 0.000 </td> </tr> <tr> <td> Style </td> <td> </td> <td> Snap Ring </td> </tr> <tr> <td> Slip Yoke Plug part number (included) </td> <td> </td> <td> SPI-500166-20 </td> </tr> <tr> <td> Compatible U-Joint Kits </td> <td> </td> <td> SPI-5-153X,SPI-5-785X,SPI-5-810X </td> </tr> <tr> <td> Notes </td> <td> </td> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> <td> </td> <td> </td></tr></tbody></table>This all should fit and work. pretty sure anyway. it makes sense that it would. I found refrence to a RUG to T-18 swap which didn't mention yoke diffrences, and the RUG takes the same yoke as the C4. actually 28 spline 1.500" diamater is common across many fords so it's logical it was designed to use that yoke
