Stock trans V10:
120-150 running on the highway solo all year long. Upper end of that range if the temps are really warm out, lower end when they are below 60ish outside.
City driving sometimes makes it jump more than that, but I haven't watched city enough to notice real ranges. 99% of the time it doesn't make it to full temp anyway because I don't go that far in 'city'.
Towing, ranges from 185-200, sometimes more, in the summer (only time I pull the TT). If it starts getting close to 210, I back down until it backs down.
FYI, in case you haven't noticed, your torque converter won't lock until the trans reaches 53 degrees, which is the start of the inner range on the dash gauge.
I have no experience with the 7.3 yet, but from the 6.4 at least, the trans temps run warmer the majority of the time. Not sure if that's just due to the Torqshift though. They hover more just under 200 solo and towing.

You should see approx 70 degrees above OAT, that is driving unloaded. Around town it can go higher since the torque converter is unlock until @ 35 mph and generates more heat. You should be seeing temps around the 140-150 mark at those speeds. I see it go up to 80 degrees above OAT when driving above 80 mph or if the wind is a tailwind and the airflow across the tranny cooler is affected. I would start by dropping the pan and see if you have any debris in the pan.

Mine is 75 degrees OAT w/ no towing. Typically runs around 135 - 150 in normal city driving year round (but then in South TX temps are mild - most of the time).
Towing it will jump to 100 to 125 OAT depending upon terrain/season. I do have a 6.0 Trans cooler on it however JIC.

Even in the 400 degree heat in Houston last summer, I rarely broke 150...
Hooking up a trailer to tow a car this weekend, I'll post back what temps are...

That is normal and 50-60 degrees cooler than posted above. Do you have a custom bumper, cattle guard or something that is blocking the flow of air to the tranny cooler causing the higher temps when not raining?
