how to properly install an aftermarket radio?

the previous owner of my truck installed a cd player. the install is OK, but deffinately FAR from great. so im wondering how you guys installed yours? pics would be nice too

Yes, and thanks. I took the factory radio/heater panel bracket, cut out a larger opening for the DIN-style head unit, then secured the two pieces of sheetmetal on each side with angle brackets. Then I trimmed the dash opening to match. My gallery has pictures of the speaker setup if you're interested in that as well.

DIN-style install kits are not available for these trucks.
