What tires do you have on your trucks for California

So I am trying to figure out what tires to get for my truck.

I want to see what you guys run on your rigs. Lift no or lift. I Really dont care about rims as long as they seal, are round and not out of balance.

But who off roads? Hits the desert? Hits the snow? What do you recommend for mostly street use but arn't afraid to take it on a good dirt trail through the mountains without fear of never coming back with your pride.

(Just a conversation starter get to know people talk tires, I prefer to talk tires over oil that ones like talking politics)

I use Firestone Transforce HT's in 265/75R16E, black side-wall. However, it has virtually ALL on-highway miles, and doesn't see much dirt or even dust.

I went with them for the wear and noise ratings. Price was a factor, too, at $155/ea OTD.

I usually go for what fills three criteria.
Looks
Cost
Function
Not necessarily in that order.
I recently purchased a set of Hankooks for the '74 because they look good, didn't cost a fortune and they seemed like they would function fine.

Are we preparing for the apocalypse. Those things could go over buildings.

I got those 37x12.5x16.5 Humvee tires and I like them but they are just to damn tall!

They did very well on their initial hill climb.
Can't wait to get the truck back down here to take it out to the dez.
They're 33s as I did not want to tax the stock (for right now) equipment and they fit the truck very well.

My Super Duty is on it's second set of 315/70/17 (34 1/2") BFG A/T's. I don't do any of what I would call serious off roading, but it gets out to the desert from time to time and they work just fine for everything I do. I do think they're a darned good snow/ice tire. I'd say their weakest performance is in mud, but I don't know if anything is good in mud with an 8000 pound truck. They're quiet on the road, and seem to wear well.

I run a 4" lift on 315/75/16 Goodyear MTR's. I go to the desert and mountains a lot and spend a bunch of time off road, the MTR's fit the bill.

The only weak point I've found in them so far is they are NOISY. Next set will be something a trifle more road friendly, looking at Kelley Safari TSR's and Fierce Attitude MT's.

My Bronco is currently running Bridgestone Dueler ATP's 31.5" tall 10.5" wide. The are quiet on the road, but have not been off road with them yet, so I can't say. Only had the truck for 10 days so far. Since the Bronco is stock and I have no real experience in the dirt, whatever off roading I do will be mild. (Especially compared to what I have seen in the 4x4 forum of this site).

I am currently riding on BFG A/Ts. No complaints. I have done it all. Sand, mud, snow, ice, dirt, gravel. "All Terrain" really means "All terrain"! I dont do a lot of off roading, but I am looking to do more in the future.

Im very pleased with my tires. I have never felt like I was going to get stuck or lose control, and I have put my truck through its paces. In one day I went through deep mud, water, snow, and ice. Never once did I fear I would have an issue. I dont have any pics of it, but I didnt stick to the trail in the snow. I forged my own paths in some spots, and it was a good 6-10" deep in places.

Not a fan of body lifts, but 2" if done properly is reasonably safe. Dunno if that's enough to clear 35's in the front on your '87 though...
