I know that the SD guys can run these for their years but what about us? I'm assuming it would have to be year specific to our trucks and if that's the case, is it an upgrade? I've been trying to learn as much as possible about these trucks, but haven't learned much about turbos yet.
I've found some reasonably priced van turbos and trying to decide how I want to build my truck. Cheap is the name of the game and I'm not looking to build gobs of power....yet. Looking for a solid stage 1 build maybe higher that will pull my trailers much easier. Thanks for any info.
From what I understand. They are similar to the obs exhaust housing with a SD compressor. Less drive pressure and surging so easier on the bearings and charger. The looser exhaust housing also helps on top end.
The Vans and the trucks have the same Turbo untill 1997 then since there was no 1998 model year the F- series came out with Wastegated Turbos in 99 while the Vans remained non -wastegated.....I thiink the compressor housings were also different but I am not 100% on that ...
