I live in Central WI, and during the winters, everything gets heavily salted. I'm looking to get headers for my truck come spring, and unsure which way to go. After reading issues of the Hedman ball/socket design, I'm stuck between the Doug Thorley or Banks longtubes. How would the ceramic coated Thorleys hold up during winter? This truck is my daily driver at this point, so it's gotta be resistant to salt, as much as possible. For the price difference between the ceramic Thorleys and Banks stainless, if the ceramic won't hold up, I'll go Banks right off. Thanks in advance.
Buy the Banks. I have the Thorleys and the Ceramic coated will rust. I brush and apply header paint on mine on a regular basis. Winters in Wisconsin are more harsh than here in PA. If you want a header to put on and forget, spend the extra money on the Banks headers.
Thats what I was figuring. Ive been able to find the Banks for approx $150 more than Thorleys, shipped to my door. Not a huge difference when considering the longevity of stainless over others.
