no 4 pin on my truck??

Dont waste your time with 4 pin trailer plugs. I would suggest you wire the trailer with a 7 pin RV plug. It gives you more options such as a battery wire and trailer breaks. Our 2008 had a faulty 7/4 pin connector from the factory. I cut it out and put a new 7 pin only rv female connector from NAPA. Although there isnt anything wrong with adapters until you dont have the right one.

If there's no plan to add brakes to the trailer, I would probably just go with the 7 to 4 pin adapter.
The ones with the LED indicators on them are nice because if there is a problem with the lights, you can see right away if the problem is on the truck or the trailer.
