Hi guys! My old girl has been running fine for a while, but today at idle she has developed a CLACK-CLACK-CLACK sound that seems to be coming from the hpop. If I wiggle the posts, it gets worse. It's not crazy loud, but loud enough I can hear it easily at idle. Hit the gas and it goes away.
Anything in there that likes to clack? I'll probably take it apart this weekend and give it a look-see if this isn't a common thing.

I'd suspect something along the serpentine belt, fan or tensioner. Far as I know HPOP death is silent, just can't make psi anymore due to internal clearances getting loose. Usually they pop a seal somewhere before actually wearing out.

 

Sorry, by Posts I mean the 2 tall posts that come through it and hold the plastic Powerstroke cover over the fuel filter and hpop.

Hmm, glad it didn't die altogether though! That would be inconvenient. I'll get it opened up this weekend after the storms blow through.
