My Fords 302 has an oil leak and i know where it is but people have been telling me that there is another part on the truck near the oil pan that needs its seal replaced. does anyone know what part this is?

i thought it was that but its actaully leaking in the front of the oil pan... not the rear. the main seal is at the end of my oil pan and its fine.

There is a front seal that runs on the damper, and it's common for the front of the intake manifold behind the distributor to leak. The dist base also has a gasket.

I looked under the truck to see where the leak was and it was the oil pan gasket. But my local mechanic and Boss said that their was another seal somewhere on the engine block were the front of the oil pan is that probably needed to be replaced but i dont remember what he called it.

If you figure out what the seal is called, what is your next plan of action?

You need to get a book like "How to rebuild your small block Ford" or something other book to walk you through it, or someone who has worked on engines before. I am not sure we can do it over the internet. You can go over to Autozone's site and look up repair guides and see if it looks like something you could do.
