My Fords 302 has an oil leak and i know where it is but people have been telling me that there is another part on the truck near the oil pan that needs its seal replaced. does anyone know what part this is?
There is a front seal that runs on the damper, and it's common for the front of the intake manifold behind the distributor to leak. The dist base also has a gasket.
I looked under the truck to see where the leak was and it was the oil pan gasket. But my local mechanic and Boss said that their was another seal somewhere on the engine block were the front of the oil pan is that probably needed to be replaced but i dont remember what he called it.
There is a tool that will take the seal off that i can get and it replaces it i have heard. All am really woried about right now is finding exactly were it is leaking at and fix it.
You need to get a book like "How to rebuild your small block Ford" or something other book to walk you through it, or someone who has worked on engines before. I am not sure we can do it over the internet. You can go over to Autozone's site and look up repair guides and see if it looks like something you could do.
I will find a book or diagam or something to help me. I just needed to know what the part is and if it a major problem or not. i will look around the internet and see if i can find a diagram to show you.
