I have heard a lot of mixed conversation about the Eaton eLocker across the net. Some say it's great. Some say it's garbage. I do like the idea of a Locker that can be "disengaged" when your not on the trail though. And I know that Toyota has had some success with eLockers on their FJ80 Land Cruisers, plus I heard that Ford is using eLockers on the 2011-Present Super Duty...
They are a great product, most of the ppl talking bad about them is confused about the mechanic locker. Electronic ones will only work (with the advantages and disadvantages this produces) en engaged.
Just do some research on lockers in general and you'll see what Encho means. The E-lockers are nice but pretty expensive. For a daily driven truck that occasionally goes through deep snow or mud they are perfect IMHO.
Does the "e" locker eliminate the spider gears? I've always heard that this is one of the most common failure points of the 8.8. Most people recommend going with a locker that eliminates them.
Those sound like Detroit lockers, they are mechanical, and i wouldn't trust them, they can engage at an akward moment creating a dangerous situation if the truck reacts in a way you didn't expect.
