My new F-350

Hello FTE forum! I've never posted here before and thought since I bought a new truck that I ought to introduce it (and me) to you!

I've never owned a Ford truck before, and my long-term plan was to actually get a Chevy 1-ton. But then along came the 6.7 and a lot of rave reviews. I studied the Ford and Chevy intently and finally decided that overall, Ford just makes a better truck. It was the final straw when the government bought out GM. Although my mind was already made up, that sealed the deal.

Getting the truck on order and receiving it is a long story in itself, but it finally did arrive and it's better than I anticipated. I bought it to tow a 38' 20k fifth-wheel camper. I haven't pulled the camper yet, but can't wait to try it out!

Anyway, here are the specs:
2012 F-350 Super Duty
Dual rear wheel
6.7L Diesel
King Ranch with Chrome package
Crew cab and 8' bed (long wheelbase)
Platinum White
Live-drive PTO
Limited-slip rear
FX4 off-road (I only wanted the skid plates and might remove the stickers)
Dual Alternators
Engine block heater
Tailgate step
Fifth-wheel/Gooseneck prep package
Ford/Reese 25k Fifth-wheel hitch kit
Gooseneck hitch kit
Exterior Backup alarm (I quickly disabled this... it's LOUD!!!)
Navigation System
Rapid heat supplemental cab heater
Upfitter switches
Power sliding moonroof
Mud flaps
Factory toughbed spray-in bedliner
Cable lock by Master Lock
Snow plow prep
Camper package
Dual headrest DVD system
Retractable stake pocket tie-downs by Bull
OWL Tires

I've added 2 things to the truck myself:
Pop-n-Lock tailgate power lock
AMP truck bed side step (gives me easier access to 5th wheel hitch)

The only thing I sorta regret is the moonroof. It didn't occur to me that it would reduce headroom. I'm 6'2", so my head barely touches the ceiling.

Very, very nice. clean looking as well.

I did not get the moon roof for just that reason, I don't use them anyway.

Looks like you did not miss many (if any) options.

Congrats.

Gorgeous truck. Do you block out your license plate as you drive as well? People can see the digits then you know

Thanks for the all compliments! I've been following this forum for a while and I agree there is a wealth of great information and ideas amongst the members.

jack_pine, yes it has every option except the tool link thing.

Sgt93, I blocked out the plate with a photo editor. But it would be cool to have -007 license plates that can automatically hide themselves. I could sneak through the speed cameras that way!

Awesome. The King Ranch trucks are really nice. Mine is the same inside, minus the upfitters - I replaced them with my own switch/jack panel to use with my Ham radio stuff.

Hey KC8QVO, I've enjoyed reading some of your posts. I happen to be a HAM too: AC0SD. I have not been actively doing HAM stuff though... It's that time and money thing!

That is one very nice and very big truck. Looks like you will be getting a little extra exercise in to, parking far away from the store as it looks like it will take up 2 spots, in both directions.
Welcome to FTE too.

There's got to be a way to adjust the seat down or something because I'm 6'5" and have driven/ridden in moon-roof equipped 6.7's and have not had a problem with my head hitting the roof (even when wearing a hat). Check into all of the seat positions to make sure you've got it all figured out.
