My fuel line has a leak about 8 inches from the tank. It is a hard plastic line
and I am having trouble finding another line or how to repair it. Any help would be very useful. It is a 1985 ford f150 302 automatic with dual tanks.
If you go to the parts store, they have repair kits for these lines. You can also rig in a regular rubber fuel line with clamps. If you get the correct size, the plastic line will just slip up into the rubber line, and then you can use a hose clamp around the rubber line to squeeze it against the plastic line. It's not exactly the correct way to do it, but it seems to work ok.
I got my kits at NAPA. Depending on the line it could be either 5/16" or 3/8". I did a "quickie" repair on my 89 SW with fuel injection using 2 clamps on each end (7 years ago)
I replaced all the plastic lines on my conversion with Dayco push-loc hose. I just carefully cut the plastic hose off the factory fittings and replaced it with push-loc. It has been together over 10 years with no problems and no clamps.
