i'm looking at trying to find a rear axle out of a 97- up that has disc brakes. Apparently, no yard around here wants to sell me just the brake assembly, mostly due to the fact that you've got to pull the axle shafts to get the parts off. So, im throwing this up with hopes of a response: does anyone have a junk rear axle in Iowa or the surrounding states for dirt cheap?? I don't need the actual axle, so i don't care if it's cracked, bent, stripped out, missing teeth, etc ... all i care about is that it's an 8.8 and it has the disc brakes on it.

yup, been using car-part for years ... great site, however, a junkyard doesn't want to part out a good rear axle just to sell some brake parts, they want to sell the whole axle! I understand their reasoning, and i agree with it, but it's not helping me in my quest ...

 

Where are you in iowa. I have a 8.8 that i split the carrier on in my garage
