Seat Covers, the Good, Bad, and Ugly

Who all has put on aftermarket seat covers? What brand, what type of material, what kind of price, did they fit right, and last but most important "are you happy with them''? Were they easy to install? Would you recommend them?

I i will let you know about the carharts this weekend. Pick up truck tomorrow and will install them then. they have been siting in garage for w few weeks.

Ford's supplier for seat covers available through "Ford Accessories" is Covercraft. Covercraft is also the manufacturer of the Carhartt seat covers.

Covercraft Seat Savers is what I have. They fit pretty well. I wish I had them on all the time, I do now except for rare occasions, but that's another story. They take some time to install, maybe about a half hour, though so it isn't a quick "throw them on and yank them off" moving them around.

Also note that the front seats are side-specific. There are airbags in the sides of the seats so you need to make sure you get the opening in the cover on the right side of the seat.

Steve, I know you have been asked before but I will do it again. Do the front seat covers allow the heat and cooling to work effectively? I am at the point where it is time to cover my seats and the rear is no big deal but I am afraid of wasting money on the front seats if the heat and cool functions don't work through them.

I am also very interested in finding the highest rated products by users here. Hoping this thread uncovers some good info......

In my research I heard that the heating works pretty well, the cooling, not so much.

I found a Covercraft camo seat cover for the rear seat at Summit for about $175. Looks real nice. I am ready to order it but waiting for more comments on this thread before I pull the trigger.

I got the covercraft and I like the fit & durability - Haven't taken them off since new although I need to & wash... I mainly got them for the dog hair that seems to continually fall off my co-pilot...

I don't have heated/cooled seats so I cannot answer anything on that topic...

I have used Marathon Seat Covers with great results. I like that they dont use neoprene and still produce a waterproof product...I HATE that smell of neoprene seat covers.

The covers fit very well, were really tough (dropped knifes, screwdrivers and various other sat on sharp objects weren't able to puncture it). The covers didnt fade in the sun and looked great even after 4 years.

Heat works just fine. The cooling works by air passing through the perforations in the seat and lower back. The covers block these holes so the cooling does not work as well. That's a small price to pay to me for keeping the seats nice every day.

Since the XLT seats are so light (and the factory cloth wears fast) I installed black cover king covers to protect them. (Light grey seats should be outlawed in work trucks)
