edge cts evolution

Hey guys is anyone running the edge evolution on the 6.0 and if so how is it? I was going to get the scangaugeII but it just doesn't look that nice in the truck. I will spend the extra money if its worth it. Also will the tunes it comes with will they hurt my motor or trans. I want to preserve my heads for as long as I can, lol. Any help would be great. Thanks

Oh let me add that my main goal is to just get a monitoring device to keep an eye on everything that is going on under the hood and if it comes with a tune or two, all the better.

Motor wise it is alright...but from what I hear it will hurt the auto tranny that comes in the truck. I have been running the edge for a while in mine with no problems, but I have the manual tranny and will be swapping to the sct with custom tunes when funds allow. Sct is the preferred programmer on the 6.0 with or without studs.

There was apparently a lot of trouble with the Edge Juice w/ Attitude module causing transmission damage. The Evolution is a different animal. I don't think I've ever seen anyone report a problem with one.

I've been running an early model Evolution tow tune since I got the truck and have not had any problems, but I have a 6 speed manual.

If you are worried you could always get the Edge Insight CTS which is essentially a scan guage. You can pick one up for $399 and with the edge products you can add anything in their EAS Accessory System. PYRO, Temps Etc.

I have the same question. I have looked at the Edge products, and am very impressed with the ability to monitor everything that it will monitor. I have also looked at the SCT TSX. I like the options it has, but I don't think it will monitor and display the items that the Edge will. I am looking for any input on which product would be the better one for my truck. Thank you for any input.

I am looking for the same thing, and it appears that the cleanest look, and most compact all in 1 setup is the Edge CTS with the following:

Edge 83830 CTS Insight for 96 and newer OBD-II equipped vehicles Price: $399.00

Edge 98601 Non-Expandable EGT probe for CS & CTS Evolution & Insight Monitors: Price: $99.00

05-07 Ford 6.0L Dash Pod For Attitude, Evolution and Insight: Price: $40.00

Sub-Total: $538.00. They have offered a package deal on this at alligator performance and this should be everything to also be able to monitor EGT & Fuel pressure.

Please let me know if this info. seems to be correct to monitor all of the necessities.

Thanks

I have the CTS and works wonders for just a daily driver/work truck, I like the monitoring system of it more than the tunes. Seems decent so far, been running over a year or so.

The stuff you have listed above won't get you fuel pressure.
With the Edge that is an additional universal sensor input (#98605 $157), and the pressure sensor itself (#98607 $136).

I have just hooked it up today and am trying to get it set up. I have the ECT, EOT, TFT & Boost, but not sure how to get FICM readings. I also got the expandable probe for EGT, but will get someone to install that for me. Anything else necessary? Also I did get a P0299 code, turbo underboost. Seems like that could be several issues?????

ect and eot temps may vary slightly, but ect and eot temp spectrum should be within 15 degree spread at the very maximum.
