AOD Transmission Swap

I have a good AOD transmission out of a 1990 Mercury Grand Marquis and was wondering if it would bolt right into my 1988 F-150 that also has an AOD in it. Someone told me that the spline size is different on a car than on a truck but is this true? Any help would be appreciated.

AOD Transmission Swap

If the yolk is different...just swap the tail shafts.

That should work.

AOD Transmission Swap

I bolted an AOD from my old 82 F-150 with a 351W to my '66 Mustang with a 289 that originaly had a 3 speed auto. So I dont see why your application wouldnt work.
