HAHA, I can still turn my head around, it's mainly that 9 times out of 10 I'm towing or have crap in the bed rendering the rear view useless and blocking me from looking back.

If you do see any, they are aftermarket, because FoMoCo did not offer these mirrors for 1980/89 F100/350's and Bronco's.

So, I'm wondering if any of y'all can share pics of your truck if they have them. Thanks
West Coast Mirrors: FoMoCo refers to them as Western Junior Mirrors.

Ask FTE member/moderator ctubutis (Chris) to scan and post the following from the 1980/89 Ford Light Truck Parts Catalog:

TEXT, SECTION 176 / PAGE 4 ~ Pictured are all the types of outside mirrors offered for 1980/89's / Type 2 (without 3rd "Steady-Rest arm) & Type 3 (with 3rd arm) are Western mirrors.

Types 2 & 3 are only listed for Econolines.

Type 3 was only offered for 1973/79 F Series. Types 2 & 3 were offered for 1967/72 F Series. Type 2 for 1961/66 F Series.

That does look good, If I can find a set in the JY I'm def going to pick them up. I tow our 20 ft car trailer a lot and going to be hauling a camper a lot too.

My brother has a set of those on a '79 F-150 that my granddad bought new...they were dealer-installed, as it ALSO has that TINY little car-type low-mount driver's side rear view mirror. Quite a versatile mirror, but still mounted a little low for my taste. I'll grant that the Junior Westies do hinder forward peripheral vision a good bit, but seeing what's behind you is every bit as important, if not more, than seeing what's in front of you when you're towing. There's a reason OTR tractors come with big 16" x 6" mirrors.

In my "old" age, I find myself being more of a form-follows-function kind of guy. I'll take the odd look of a Westie over a car mirror on a truck that doesn't really do any WORK!

RECREATIONAL SWING-LOK LOW PROFILE GOOSE NECK MIRROR-Type 8 (introduced 1975).

1980/96 F100/350 & Bronco: E2TZ-17696-A .. Mirror Kit / R/L is the same.

1975/79 F100/350 & 1978/79 Bronco: D5TZ-17696-A .. Mirror Kit / R/L is the same.

1975/96 F100/350 & Econoline; 1978/96 Bronco: D5TZ-17723-A .. 6 3/4" x 9 1/2" Mirror Head / R/L is the same.

The mirror head is the same, the brackets used 1975/79 are not the same as 1980/96, because the door contours are different.

The Econoline mirror brackets are different than the F100/350 & Bronco brackets.

There actually were at least 3 different heads, and yes they do all have FoMoCo part numbers.

How about listing the other two mirror head Ford part numbers, since I'm only aware of one.

1973/79 Ford Light Truck Parts Catalog / 1973/79 Ford Passenger Car Parts Catalog (where Bronco parts are listed) / 1980/89 & 1990/2001 Ford Light Truck Parts Catalogs:

Only one mirror head part number is listed for the Recreational Low Profile Swing-Lok Goose Neck mirrors = D5TZ-17723-A

D5TZ 17723 A was replaced by F2TZ 17723 A
It should be a direct bolt on replacement.
Whether they have the same appearance, who knows.

Yes beacuse rust is soo appealing. With that much rust being caused, if it is from the mirror mounts, which it looks to be, the doors would render useless in a few years and your towing "a lot" would go to not towing at all until you found new doors.

Well I wasn't refering to the rust, and besides its a work truck, just like mine, so yeah theres some rust and some dings and some duct tape, who cares. My doors are going to need to be replaced before too long anyway, the bottoms are starting to rot out, couldnt tell by looking at the though, paint looks good, just the bottom of the door thats bad. might just patch 'er up with some sheet metal instead of replacing them then have to repaint the doors.

Oh gotcha... Understandable for a work truck.

Are these mirrors still available. Or even just one? What are the lengths of the top, side and bottom tubes that the mirror mounts to? I'm looking for
mount on truck body to vertical pole: top: about 8", bottom about 2.5"
vertical tube: about 11"

Most mirrors you find are cheap third world junk. Good luck and post here if find nice ones.

For anyone else: This is a really old thread.
