I bought a 1971 f-100 ranger for parts, and the guy I bought it from said it had a 390 in it. The VIN# says that the truck originally came with a 302. (I know it isn't a 302). The # on the head is "6090R". Any idea of what this code is?

They're both the same heads, just a different way of casting the number.
Good heads too! Grind out the anti-reversion lip on the exhaust port exits, open the throats for CJ valves and you got some cheap CJ heads!
