The GREEN color of that fluid bothers me.... Who put GREEN coolant in it??? Get that flushed outta there ASAP and put a good ELC coolant in there.

Green was in it when he bought it....We have the right coolant to put in it as soon as we get that damn up pipe lined up and sealed to the turbo.

Tyler, have you tried the anti-seize on the clam trick?

this is how I do it to

and by the time I get the turbo and uppipes lined up the turbo is pretty cockeed away from the pedistatall. so the turbo mount bolts to the pedistall are kinda a fight but the ypipe to turbo joint is tight as a Bulls ****

Just smear antiseize in the V-Bands on the marmon clamps just gives it alittle slip and draws things in tight

you dont need anti seize...

tyler dont put the pedestal bolts in until the downpipe and y-pipe clamps are on and tight. Make sure the o-ring on the drain tube is fully seated, sometimes its not and makes it sit cockeyed. Let me know how you make out.

I know for sure the anti sieze does not hurt now or later so why would you not want to make things easier it has always made my jobs go so much better and faster to get clamps on and off, just simple insurance

that kind of scares me that you have all this experience with the turbo on/off, and it still kicks your behind.

best of luck

edit: didn't mean the part above to seem questionable about your skills...instead, WTH is the turbo so dang hard to install?

my 06 has green in it right now. was that way from factory as best we can tell. Truck only has 1 repair report on OASIS for something stupid that they didn't even pop the hood for.

and with it having 9,800 miles when I bought her...I can't see anyone changing coolant. truck only got 3,500 miles from Jan 2006 to June 2010. I might be wrong, but it's just one of those things that people never look at really with such low miles

Honestly, it was late after working a 10hr work day, I could have just been tired, but im not blaming it on that. I have taken 6.0 turbos out of my truck, and 2 04's and it was a cake walk. See, someone was in this truck before me, there was 1 bolt out of the 3 holding the turbo in, there was RTV over everyseal in there, the turbo drain tube, the oil feed tube and I believe over a few other things. The Vband clamp was a PAIN to get off I mean a pain, So I was ready for a fight getting it back together but it just didn't happen, I won't be able to look at it until during the week sometime, Super busy at work, but im not complaining.

As far as the coolant, I always ran the green stuff in it, my EGR cooler and OIL cooler failed 2 weeks after buying it. Ever since then, its still been the green coolant and my temps were never a problem after the first failure which the truck had 199K at the time.

Okay guys...here we go again....

Good news/bad news!

Took me about 15 minutes to get the up pipe lined up to the turbo...no more leaks there Started the truck, found a leak around the EGR cooler where it meets the up pipe, fixed that....Now, we still hear a leak...but the truck builds 25lbs of boost all day long....Is it possible the up-pipe is cracked/broken from all the pushing and prying of it?

Well this is the most part....We took the truck around for a quick spin, went good, rough running but as expected with all the work we did.

We changed the oil, fuel filters, and flushed the coolant system.

Put it all back together heading home, got to a stop sign, truck started idling BAD, BAD injector knock....to the floor it would only idle, wouldnt go up or anything..the truck would run at like 300RPM before it just totally dies out...

I tryed unplugging the ICP, and no change, check all plugs/connections all good.

Is there anything I should look at/for? I would think the IPR, but if it were that...the truck just wouldn't run correct?

PS, the truck still rough idled throughout the whole time driving it, I figured it still needed to clear out...we put about 8 miles on it all together, so I don't understand why it would go decent until we tryed to drive it home.

Im LEAST concerned about the uppipe leak, I am way more concerned about this truck not running anymore.

BTW. all FORD filters.

It frequently takes more than 8 miles to work the air out of the HPO system.

As you know, sometimes lint etc can plug up the IPR screen - even if you were very clean!

When theres air in those HPO rails it will cough and sputter for a few minutes but the Longer it Runs the Smoother it should get But since it got worse the longer you ran it Im almost Betting the IPR got Jacked Up it just took a few to collect junk on it screen

and it could have cracked a flex joint on the exhaust might try and hang a string on a stick and hang it around the uppipes and see if it blows around

Did you have the FICM out while doing this work? Is it possibly a connector that didn't snap in all the way?
