painting frame?

The last two I've done bare frame. One blasted, Eastwood rust encapsulator(doubles as primer) then Chassis Black. The second, I wire wheeled, Ospho to kill any remaining rust, then encapsulator, then Chassis Black. Both turned out well and holding up no problems. Frame off I've spayed, if I did it on the truck, I'd probably use POR-15 and brush. Nasty stuff if you get it on anything(especially skin), and not UV protected unless topcoated.

I did my 75 Monte Carlo frame with Chassis Black and wasn't impressed. It just seems like it isn't thick enough. For my 78 Scab, I blasted the frame, couple coats of Epoxy Primer followed by a couple coats of Black Tractor Enamel from the tractor supply store. I definitely like how it came out much better than the chassis black. here's my build: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...y-78-scab.html

first I sandblasted the whole frame taking off what ever I could to sandblast and paint separate, than I used KBS Coatings 3 step system. Which includes a degreaser/cleaner as step 1, than a Rust remover, than the paint which is really tough and comparable to POR15. Even though I sandblasted the whole frame to bare metal I still did all 3 steps just incase.
the paint is Gloss black and looks great but its dusty in the pic
here's a link to KBS KBS Coatings - Paint Over Rust - Stop Rust Paint - Gas Tank Sealer - Gas Tank Liner
