Batteries in my truck when I bought it were wal-mart specials, 3.5 years old and ruined.

I went to walmart and they gave me new ones! No reciept, no nothing, just the stickers on the batteries. So I guess my vote is with them. They seem strong, crank my truck fast!

Just try to keep the receipt and warranty slips. Keep them in he truck. They did ask for them when I took them back. But brand new ones carried out. Went from the older 2 yr replacement to the newer 3yr ones

Went to the local Deka battery dealer and he quoted me $98. for 880 CCA battery. That sounds pretty reasonable. What say you.

I think the everstart MAXX at Walmart is 850 CCA, and was $95 at the new price. So I think it is a good price as long as it is a good brand battery.

I'm running Optima Red Tops for the last year and love them so far but they are pricey.

Check out this vid. Couple of guys in the OBS section just started running these and love them, but they're pricey as well.

Check out this video on YouTube:

IDK if you have Sears near you, but I'm pretty happy with my Die Hard 880CCA batteries.

If you read the specs, the DieHard Platinum is basically an Odyssey battery. At least everything appears to be.

I put a set of Optima Yellows in my 02' 7.3 last fall. The started dying on me this fall. I replaced them (and the parts store refunded the difference) with Optima Reds. I hope they'll last longer.

I remember paying $56 for 1000 amp (I think this is warm rating) batteries with 100 months warranty.
Costco keeps the purchase records on their computers. I just had Costco battery failing on my sedan after 51 months. They promptly refunded me 50% of purchase price with no receipt.

I'm not trying to sway anyone one way or the next, but to me, if your in remote areas a lot, a great warranty from one of the big box stores is about as good as taking a dump in a box and marking it guaranteed. Cause all you're getting is a guaranteed piece of doo doo

That reminds me old Polish joke about advantage of using horse, than a car.
Horse will drop a s**t and be on his way.
Not so with a car.

If your in remote areas, relying on any warranty to get out, you probably shouldn't be there.

As for the Optima's, been there, paid way much for that. I never got more than a year out them. I got three or so that where bad from start. I have also seen one short and catch fire. It also took the alt with it.

I have a set of Reds in a 99' K3500 that are 8 years old and going strong. But I've read somewhere about them making changes to production that affected quality.
