Got a truck I'm looking at. The trans code is t, it shows overdrive, drive, and first on the dash. No od button on shifter, its a 93 302 f150. I would have crawled under it but its nothing but sloppy mud.

That sounds like it might be an AOD, my friend has a 93 150 super cab that has that shift pattern and his is AOD..
Then why does it just have od, d, and one instead of od, 2, 1, with od button
The od position will let it go into overdrive. The drive position only lets it shift up to 3 rd gear/direct.. (towing)
First and second gear is used with drive or OD, unless you shift to 2, that starts you off in second and stays in second,(ice and slick conditions) likewise 1 will start off in first gear and stay in first...
