We have been trying to figure out what is wrong with our truck. We are down to the IDM, but don't have a spare to swap out to rule it out as a problem. Is there anyone in central San Diego area willing to come over and let us borrow their IDM? Will give some gas $$, beer, pizza, whatever...

It's an entirely different animal on a 6.0...not interchangeable.

 

Bummer. anyone else around the area? We are very good friends with a local Microbrewery and would happy to provide you with a growler (1/2 gallon) of the finest beer in San Diego (Lightning Brewery). A stout Porter, authentic German pilsner, you name it!

 

Have you priced rebuilt IDM's?

Seems like swapping with someone is a lot of screwing around for a $165 part. JMHO.

 

Never seen them that cheap, most are $380-over $1000. Seems a little suspicious... Anyone used these before?

 

The do offer an eclectic assortment of items, don't they? But it is all circuit board repair, so I guess that isn't too surprising.

For $250 you can go with Circuit Board Medics. I think they have a pretty good reputation with 6.0 FICM, which is the equivalent of an IDM on a 7.3.
