Hey Bruno, Thanks for the input. I really did not get the answer I wanted, so I have decided to just bid on a snap on mt2500, to me that is a scan tool. I have an 02 PSD, with all types of gauges, I don't need that in a dump truck. What I was also wanting to know was when I replaced my CPS, I dropped RPM's, off subject here , but I am working on that right now.
It does cost a little . However, the advantage of having live data stream is second to none. This eliminates all of the parts changing/guessing when diagnosong a problem. The software has a trouble code library built in so you know what the code it throws actually means. Then you do your key on engine running scan and pull the live data to see what spectrum is giving you problems. It will clear the codes too.
The AE isnt like a bully dog or edge part that you keep in the cab. It is software you install on your laptop and it has a usb cable that adapts into your data port under the dash and communicates with your PCM and IDM.
That sounds sweet, but I ran into this as well, will it support a 1995, non OBD2, according to this site, and from what I know, 96 was the first year for OBD2, did i or dont i have OBD2 cpu
Not in the diesels. They are like JPO7264 or something crazy. I will grab my instruction book and look at what the designation is for what the diesels use. They will read OBD I and II also.
Hey Riffraff, Do you have the black air cleaner covers in stock now, I want 2 of them.
Yep, in stock and ready to ship.

Yes, the AE will read 95's as well so no issue there.
PSD's from 1994.5 to 1997 use Ford's EEC-V PCM. EEC-V's are OBD2 compliant, used on all Ford cars & trucks, starting in 1996.
The 1994.5 EEC-V has both OBD1 port between power brake and left fender and OBD2 port under dash. Only one port can active at a time.
OBD1 was active leaving factory. 99% of the 94.5's have been flashed to 1995 - 1996 under warranty, therefore OBD2 under dash is active.
PCM's from 1995 + 2003 only have the OBD2 port.
The confusion arises because diesels above 8500 lbs are not required to be OBD2 emission compliant, including codes and MIL behaviors. So strictly speaking they are OBD1
Ford was using EEC-V for the PSD and decided to support the expanded high speed bandwidth OBD2 interface, saving all of us from having to buy Ford proprietary OBD1 "Star" or the OBD2 "NGS Star" scan tool.
