Red face Please Help w/ 66 F100!!! Special request...

I have a unique request;

I just got engaged and my fiancé owned a 66 f100 sea foam green and white 3 speed manual V8. He had to sell due to financial reasons and regrets it every day. I'm asking all owners within 1000 miles of Chicago, Il with that classic to see if I could contract you and the truck for our wedding- Just for a few hours for some photos. As a surprise to my fiancé

It would mean the world to me if someone has or knows someone who has that truck!!

** as long as it has the same color scheme as the sea foam green and white, that's ok! (ie: red and white or blue and white) **

A couple of ideas perhaps...look into a few "film" or "movie Car" companies who provide cars for film productions.
In LA (ya, I know it's Hollywood) thereare companies you can contact that have a network of vehicle owners with
various cars for period films and video projects...

...another option is if you knew a Cop near you who could perhaps look up a particular vehicle for you...it's a stretch
perhaps, but it might be good. You can also contact members by State on here via the members link...I think once
you have a certain number of posts you can PM them.

Can you contact the person who bought the truck from him??

Hi Justhitched66. Congrats on your engagement! These are exciting times for your life, I'm sure.
Obviously, I know nothing about your personal situation or the circumstances surrounding your fiance's decision to sell his truck but I'm guessing that it was for financial reasons with an upcoming wedding. Your desire to hire someone to share their truck with you for the wedding is pretty cool and would be a great surprise but I had another thought....You didn't say what your budget is for the venture but I would suggest that you consider taking that money and try to find him another 66 F100. That would be a REAL surprise that would last long past the photos!
I'd bet there are guys all over this site that would help you find a worthy truck within your budget. You could probably even get some of your friends who don't want to buy you another toaster or blender to secretly contribute to the cause. That would be a wedding gift he'd never forget!!

Again, I don't know anything about your situation, I just thought I'd throw the idea out there.
Please keep up posted on the developments and congratulations on your engagement!!
All the best!!
Randy

Thanks cropdusterman for some good ideas! I never thought to ask a cop: I do have a few in the family.

Randy, I would love to buy him one but we have no space to put it yet! I'll keep that in mind though

Hey Justhitched,

See if your guy has the Vin# for his old truck...if he had it serviced anywhere (even at a "Discount Tire for instance),
they usually write the vin numbers down on the work order...your cop family could track it down via the vin#.

One other thing, if you find a truck with that paint scheme, but it's the wrong colors...have the photog shoot it in
Black & White...you won't be able to tell!

Good luck!

Jason
