I am buying a 4x4 Explorer (Down Side and Questions)

Hey, I am Phil I am looking into my future because i am intending to buy a Explorer and i want to become a full time camper with my husband if he likes the idea.

The down side of why i am not comfortable with this buy because of the "Legendary" Notorious Flip/Roll over ratio of Explorers. I am looking for pre 2000 explorers, In the same token Would lowering the Explorer and putting a bulky set of rims and tires decrease the flip ratio?

Hi, I'm Phil....

The issue with the flips was due to the tires.....

I have now driven several Exploders, 92,94,95,97, Code 3 (Dive rescue), full out, emergency equipment, on road and off road, never had an issue with stability..... out ran many a PC..... Philip

I heard it was more then just tires. the basin is to narrow and making the vehicle topheavy. Ford sued firestone for the tires issue but that was not the problem to the full extent.

If you did not want to accept any other opinion why did you bother asking.

I am not here to debate, just passing on real life experience...

You cannot run any heavy vehicle on P rated tires... Period!........Philip
