hav2...D44 and 10 bolt Chevy is not common knowledge.....at least not to me......A/O...I likely did not ask the question directly....is it absurd to assume ?.....assumptions were made on both sides I guess....

If all the parts are the same, why swap them? Are you sure the F250 has a dana 44hd or dana 50? I was suprised to learn my F250 HD had the dana 44hd, so you'll have to check the hubs if ya wanna know. Otherwise it's even less worth it. Edit: I reread what urbanarcher said and my above post should just be ignored

I'm leaving my ttb just swapping in the 409 gears from the 250 and yes seems knuckle out to get the 8 lug I need to use the d44 10 lug Chevy. Now after all this I may just sell my Bronco since it's nicely set up with a completely rebuilt drive train with 4ok and skyjacker lift and new bf ta's on 15s and find me another bronco with a shot drive train but good body and interior swap all the 250 goodies and get a dana 60 straight axle. Time will tell but I will soon have my f2bronco, thats the emblem I'm putting on it. I have a 15' flat bottom jon boat I put a jet ski system in, I call it my stretch ski, I can do donuts lol. Thanks for the input fellas and mcdonald lovers.

You cant bolt 50 gears into a 44. There are companies that sell hybrid kits (that Karl posted) but it is not a novice, bolt in simple swap.

Aww your no fun. Everyone knows that any novice can swap over d50 gears into a d44 case. Heck while they are at it, jsut simple hardware stuff can make for awesome 4 link components. All that high dollar fabrication stuff is a waste of money.

He said his axle is a dana 44hd, not a dana 50. From what i can tell he wants to swap the 3.73(?) gears from the F250's dana 44hd into the bronco's dana 44.

I may have a load of big girls in there with me LOL and I might go 35s and put my 33s on my 4runner that I'm putting my broncos 5.0 into plus my 8.8 has 350.000k on it and no sence spending $ to re gear . now thats the rear but on the front so I can keep my broncos housing with coil springs can I just swap the guts from the 250 d44(if thats what it is i'm still trying to find out for sure my bronco and 250 both have 10 bolts holding the diff) into my broncos? I installed a 1200 dollar suspention lift a couple years ago and hate to lose it. somewhere down the line after this is done I'll do the d60 front swap but for now I'm trying to use everything off this 250 I can and get back to the woods before babmi's grandaddy season comes.
Its in there...'swap the guts from the 250 d44'

This guy has no idea what axle he has. Hes going by Autozone saying the gear set from a 150 is the same part number for a gear set from a 250 and both axles having 10 bolts holding the dropout in. This is correct IF he has a 44HD but incorrect if he has a 50. He needs to do a little poking around on the 250 to see exactly what he has before you tell him its as simple as swapping gears.

I dont think i ever said that its as easy as swapping gears...I don't know what he has, nor do you, I was simply stating he THINKS he has a dana 44HD, not a dana 50 like you guys were talking about.

His only basis of opinion is from an autozone worker pulling part numbers from his computer. I value my experience/opinion (even if it turns out that he does have a 44hd) over some minimum wage punk punching buttons on a computer and handing out mechanical advice without ever looking at the axle in question.

Fair enough, but if he read this entire thread then he should know, it was talked about on pg. 1 and 2. If not, then I cant fix stupid. If he cant figure it out, its better he leave the bronco stock and just have fun with it.
