I have a 400 GPM Gould pump I de-water 40 acres of farm land with, last Sunday a lightning strike whittled a power pole down to baseball bat sized tooth pick. 36 hours later when Intermittent Electric Co (AEP) finally showed up to restore power I found the pump died.
I replaced fuses, both in my disconnect and one in the controller board, then I spied this little $170 object fried. The contactor and pump are good, the 24 volt DC supply board works on manual but not automatic. I wanted to send the board out for repair and keep it as a spare, the manufacturer said it is non repairable. Looks to be a Diode, but I am no electrician so I thought I would throw it up to experts.
