A little background: 1976 GMC Crew we used to pull the race car with, my Cousin passed away this March and I am getting it back into running condition for his widow. A local garage did work on it for him ..... another story and assume nothing. I came from GM so I know these trucks like the back of my hand, switched to Ford in 1995 and never looked back.

Got it on the road today, gave it a much needed bath, reminisced a little and added to the list of repairs to go...... I find peace in doing this in my spare time since it was part of me just a few years ago.

yup, nothing like a 454 in a suburban for hauling family, gear, and a 32+ foot trailer all over the place.
we had a 75, and then a 85 when the 75's body rotted off it.

What is funny, you have to remind yourself 1976. Tilt steering wheel, Dimmer switch on floor (YES) which I love but..... no cruise control, crank windows, no air bags, no shoulder harness, no auto dimming rear view mirror, AM radio but has a FM converter, no drink holders but plenty of ash trays.

Making some progress. The wet spring and hectic hay season has us a little behind schedule.

I like the old square bodies. There's a guy, on another site, that had one like that with a 6.9 idi in it. That's going to be a great barn Deer!
