House plan flaw... Window was too tall for the upstairs ceiling, but they wanted to keep the look from the outside?!
Yeah T, I like to make it a little challenging!

Nothing wrong, added a conversation piece for years to come.

What do you think of Hardie siding, I keep mulling this one over for my home?

I have mixed feelings about it. It seems to be REALLY durable, when installed correctly. You do have the upkeep of painting it. I'm spoiled to vinyl siding, easy and quick to install with little upkeep. I'm told that a hardie home will be appraised as a mason home though.

My parents have had Hardie siding for 8 years through some heavy hail storms and have not had to repaint once. Vinyl siding on neighboring houses was shredded while theirs was fine. My next home will be at some point getting upgraded to Hardie siding. I will do it myself to save some money though for sure as the cost over vinyl is fairly substantial. Nice not having to worry about insurance claims afterwards though.

I'm sure that the upfront cost pays off in the long run. The only thing that I have against it is the installation time. I've been working with vinyl for several years and just got spoiled.
