turn single switch

I have a 1995 f 150 manual transmission tilt steering wheel. The turn single switch works on the right side but on the left side I have a solid light with no flash. I assume the flasher is okay because it works on the right side. The hazards work on both sides. I replaced the switch so I am missing something. Could anyone offer a suggestion as where to look next? Thanks

The turn signal bulbs are a dual filament system.....Just like Brake Lights....Can come on AND flash....

I just had a similar issue, except it was that my turn signals worked, but the parking lights wouldn't come on.....Changed a couple bulbs, and VOILA!.....

Just start with the simple stuff.....And IIRC, a solid light coming on, is a defective bulb, which means the filament for the turn signal has blown, and quite possibly, the parking light filament is still intact..Again, same scenario as I had, just opposite...

Hope this helps...

Yes, make sure you have the correct bulbs Should be a 3157 I believe. IIRC aren't there separate flashers for left and right and hazards?

Yes, DO'H....

Directly behind the flasher you CAN see, is another you CAN'T see, but it is literally on the backside of the flasher you see when you open up the fuse compartment....Feel for it...

Yeah, one flasher is for the turn signals, the other is for the hazard lights.
Standard flashers use the current running through the lamps to heat up a bi-metal contact strip which, when heated, bends to make/break contact. These flashers are very sensitive to the current, and are affected greatly if one or more filaments are burned out. Heavy-duty flashers have a separate circuit inside to heat the bi-metal strip, and aren't sensitive to lamp current load. That's why they're recommended for towing, because of the extra lamps on the trailer.
All the lamps on the left side work when the hazard flasher is on? If so, I'd get a wiring diagram & look for the differences between how the left bulbs get power from the hazard flasher & when the left turn signal is on.
You could also put a new heavy-duty flasher in the turn signal circuit & see what lamps don't flash...

Thanks for all of the great input. It turns out no pun intended that the culprit was the flasher in the fuse box. Edgethis you were correct it was a 3157 bulb. So now the kid can get it inspected and I can move on to other things.
