Only one cup/day? I'd never get through the day...........

I'm on my 3rd cup already!
When we started remodeling this new place last year, I insulated EVERYTHING. R-60 in the ceiling, R-30 in the floor, and insulation in all the interior walls. My neighbor lives in a unremodeled house and his heating and electric bills are double what we pay........

Insulation is one of the best bargains around. Payback comes every month when you get your power bill! We have new thermopane windows also........

Harley and I have started insulating the new shop also, and we use used motor oil for heat!

Its great that you can use the used oil, its free heat.......a lot of garages in town use the oil so I drop off my used stuff there, they like my used tranny fluid too......

My house was built in 1943 and it seems they were rationing insulation during that time cause my house has none

I have several farms and a logging co that save their used oil for me. I burn about 5 gal/day at the shop, and have over 1,000 gallons saved for this winter. I also haul WVO from 22 resturants, and make biodiesel with it. My cost for bio is just under $1/gallon, and I sell my glycerol (left over from making bio) to the county for dust control on gravel roads for $.50/gal, so my cost for fuel is about $.50/gallon.........

Morning! My house was built in 1948, and had 0 insulation. That's why we bought an unfinished, stripped house. We did it all ourselves, and it sure helps with the monthly energy costs.
