Well, odd story. The closest dealer to me found a lid at 2 other dealers (Huntsville and Austin). Austin is closer so I decided to just drive up there. In the meantime, I hadn't heard back from the dealer in Columbus, so I looked on the internet on ford.com and found the part. I ordered it but they wouldn't guarantee they could find it. When Columbus called back with the Austin location, I figured I'd go ahead and get that one.

Picked it up on Tuesday - whopping $100. Just what I needed though. Thursday I get an email confirmation from Ford.com - they found the part and it shipped. For only $86. SO, now I'll have two.

Since they seem to be in short supply and hard to get, maybe I'll just hold on to the extra. I've gone from destroyed lid to lid poor .

Guess I'll put it on today. Gotta find a torx driver.....

Which lid is it? I have the center seat with the giant lid. Color is parchment. Have it? I need one desperately.

 

I have bucket seats - console is completely separate piece. You have the full seat with the pull down console? I understand you have to order the entire seat back for that. The call mine pebble.

 

Maybe they can price match the $100.00 one. Its only $14 but that would have covered your fuel costs at least.

 

Yup, it's the full size seat and console top. It's huge. easily fits my 17" laptop inside it. I just need the lid which can be purchased seperately. I've looked into it a while ago and the lid is about $300... form what I remember. Thanks anyway.

thats why it still looks like crap. I can take it to an upholstery shop but it wont be much cheaper for them to recover it than to just buy a brand new lid.

 

I don't feel so bad about messing mine up - it was pretty cheap actually - even getting two.

Yep, they are comfy. I really didn't have a choice - that was the last Ex they had on the lot. But I wanted the captains anyway. Have the split in the backseat.

 

Who did the front seat mod for you? Or was it done by the previous owner?

Factory seating configuration. Never changed it.

 

Dealer must have done it then (special order maybe, or dealer modification?) because all Excursions came with the center floor console standard.

Well, when I went to the dealer about 6 months ago and asked about the price of the console lid, I gave my vin and it came right up. I dunno....i guess I have a rare excursion.
