Remove the upper intake from the 5.0, unplug all the sensors and lay the harness off to the side, and then do the reverse with the 5.8 when it goes back in. You will however need a 5.8 EEC that is compatable with the trucks transmission and a 28oz flywheel or flexplate for your trans, you cannot use the 50oz 5.0 version. You will also need to widen the exhaust Y pipe or swap in the 5.8 version.
thought this was covered already

Hey guys I am in the finishing process of doing a 5.0 to 5.8 engine swap on my 90 F150 and I was able to use the harness from the donor engine without any issues since it was the same year. I read a thread about the different flexplates so I took off the 5.0 AOD flexplate and put it on the 5.8. I hopefully won't have any problems with that, but so far everything is going good. Needs exhaust finished, used shorty headers I had from my old mustang for that, O2 sensor needs to be hooked up so the check engine light won't come on. Still have to find a 5.8 EEC but it's running and driving now, not a bad project for all said and done about $1,200 into it as of now....
