im trying to figure out why my dome light stays on in my truck even when the doors are shut and i turn the light **** both ways it always stays on any suggestions on what could cause it

 

Open the door and push in on the dome light button(switch) it may be too short. On each door of course.

If you don't want the dome light to ever come on ever then take open truck. There is a little button like thing that if you press it should turn off the light. If you disconect the light won't ever come on. My ranch which is a 1989 Ford F250 4x4 has them disconnected so I can keep the door wide open without draining battery or a buzzer when my key is in the ignition because of the fact the key is jammed into the ignition.

the door jamb switches can get rusted up and not make a good connection !
