5.4 V8 Ram Air Intake Induction Kit + Filter
I was wanting to put an after market intake on my 99 F150 5.4L V8 Lariat
but im not wanting to pay the 200-300 dollars for a K&N intake
I seen this one on ebay and was wondering if it would be as good to get or does brand make a difference
eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low prices

The cheep ebay one will do the same as the K&N. Not much of anything but look good.
So if you want the look, your better off with the cheep one.
A true ram air/cold air intake would have a closed box and a tube and scoop running to the front of the truck to suck in cold air wile going down the road. Some have a scoop in the hood also to bring in cold air.
Just for an example, something like this.
.: Johnny Lightning Performance
And even that wont give you much of a performance advantage.

Factory box is connected to drivers inner fender and brings in cool air. Motor runs down the road at 1600 RPM and air box will flow o.k. at 4000 RPM. You got plenty of air. If you want slightly more noise, remove the intake nozzle at the fender and install a 3 inch PVC coupling - more intake... If you want looks, but the e-bay thing.
