WHen I went out to plow snow last week my wipers started to swing too far to the left and acted kinda "floppy". When I shut them off they hung about four inches up from the bottom of the windshield ,then settled down to the usual spot. Anybody got a good place to start looking before I start my contortionist act under the dash ??
usually when the wipers don't go to there normal stopped position the wiper switch is malfunctioning maybe try taking it out cleaning with some contact cleaner and retry it
The park switch is in the motor housing. Can be cleaned but is likley worn out and will need to be replaced. Sometimes bent (snow load) wiper transmission arms cause issues like you described. Luckily new arms are available through carpenter. If the ww motor is worn out now may be a good time to replace it with a late model two speed motor with delay wiper. These parts are available at the local bone yard or napa. Search this site for intermittant wipers. I think there is a conversion article in the tech section. Really easy and doable with junk yard pieces.
As William mention; doing this conversion is best thing since slice bread. Only besure to use your oem motor arm; due to the park stop location as well as the mounting bracket and attachment arms.
