what's the right battery size

So my V10 has been having hard starts lately. So had the Batt and Alt tested = good. Starter = good. So there I found myself hood up staring at the engine thinking what else could it be. And you know what, the Battery is signifigantly smaller than tray would allow. And i'm pretty certain it's not the same specs as the battery that was in there originally. So besides CCA (which mine has 750) what battery should be in there? Also, i plan to add lights, a winch and some audio equipment in the future and may as well get a battery (and alt if needed) that can run all that. Thoughts

Bigger is better when it comes to batteries......get the most CCA's you can. there will be 10k people chime in for different brands......on my diesel I run 2 Everstart Maxx batteries from Walmart.....Why ? CCA: 875 amps @ 0 degree F/ CA = 1090 amps @ 32 F; Reserve capacity: 165 mins.....plus 3yr free replacement, 108 month pro-rata.....plus I can make a wrong turn off any interstate and end up in a Walmart parking lot to get my replacement with no questions asked......
You might shoot a PM to Sean (WPNAES) ......he has dual batteries on his V10 and with your future additions planned it might be a good idea for you.

I did a couple of super strong batteries for my various future and current improvements. Plus my kids like to leave different lights on inside my truck:

A little pricey, but worth it in my opinion

you showed that......... 65 series.....he also asked about CCA's....Motorcraft doesnt make batteries ......Motorcraft batteries are made by Johnson Controls and so are the everstart batteries..... largest domestic battery manufacturers are Johnson Controls (Interstate, Motorcraft, Energizer, older Diehards), Delco (Sears, newer Diehards), GNB (Champion) and Exide (NAPA).

a garbage fleet diesel mechanic told me they use the 700 cca batteries, because the plates are thicker and last longer according to him.

I personally have a 1000 CCA Bosch. Battery was low when I got it, started showing signs when the first "cold" spell came...working on the truck with doors opened left me unable to turn it over without a jump starter battery, so it was time to replace.

I don't know much about batteries though, just found the highest CCA I could find and got it - knowing I would be adding an inverter and doing a bunch of upgrades.
