NC FTE Dirty Dozen Olympics

Each month a new "contest/event" will be held.

One winner per month/contest. "If you ain't first, you're last."

We as a chapter will be the judges and majority wins. If there is a tie then the deciding vote will be made by chapter leader.

Events start at midnight on the first day of the month and end at midnight on the last day of the month. Entries need to be submitted during this time frame.

Judging starts the day after the event is over and is open for one week.

Participants, try to be honest, have fun, and contribute.

The overall winner (most points combined for all events) will receive a trophy with their name on it.

We can make some changes as needed or add some prizes for certain entries that didn't win but may have earned special praise.

I will update the main page to add winners name for each month.

Jan: Best five shot group with any caliber handgun at 30ft. (include gun type, cal., indoor or outdoor, ruler for scale)

Feb: Cleanest truck exterior.

Mar: Best five shot group with a rifle at 150ft. (include gun type, cal., indoor or outdoor, ruler for scale)

Apr: Heaviest fresh water fish. (not longest or biggest or prettiest)(include body of water, Gear, bait, fish on scale)

May: Muddiest truck exterior.

June: Heaviest salt water fish. (not longest or biggest or prettiest)(include body of water, Gear, bait, fish on scale)

July: Odo challenge, most miles. (show photo on day one and last day, with something in photo to confirm date and time)

Aug: Largest load. (truck, people, trailer, boat, rv, etc...)(will be judged according to visual prescence not actual weight.)(whose "looks" the most massive with load)

Sept: Best five shot group with bow and arrow (traditional, cams, or crossbows are ok)(include bow type, arrows, indoor or outdoor, ruler for scale)

Oct: Truck in scenic location. (your truck in an interesting or scenic location)(to be judged by "wow" factor)

Nov: Most impressive hunting trophy. (largest rack, biggest bear, swine, rabbit quail, fox, whatever is in season during Nov.)(A huge pile of dove could beat a six point buck depending on judges discretion.

Dec: Best decorated truck for the holidays.

Can't win if you don't enter.

Most of all have fun.

Even though I have taken myself out of the running, I still plan to participate. Hitting the range either this week or next. I'll post some photos from the shoot. Might even do one with the slingshot.

Hope some other folks plan to participate. Still have the whole month to get out there and get shooting.

Just waiting on the right day to get out and let the .45 bark. went out about 3 weeks ago, but that was last year and that would be cheating. The Olympics were a good idea. Lets hope the chapter gets some participants.

Since there hasn't been any posts yet for this month, I'm thinking about opening up the rules a little bit. So forget about groupings and such and just go shoot something and take photos. Maybe someone will have some cool pics from a shoot.

So on with the show:

Target about 30' away at an indoor range.

Kahr, compact 9mm, 3" barrell:

S&W, 38spc, 3" barrell:

Sig, 40cal, standard frame:

These all were one time, five shot groups.

Here's some practice shots:

Hey James, does using a Wii for the shooting and archery count? LOL
Nice shooting by the way.

Tony, at this point, yes I would consider a screen shot of a shooter game.

But better yet, go outside shoot the wii and take pictures.

Doesn't have to be show clean. Doesnt even have to be clean. We'll widen the rules to be who has the least dirtiest truck. Ill post up mine from this past weekend.

Does it have to be on a paper target? I could spray some paint on a steel target, all my target holders got messed up during the last storm and I haven't rebuilt them.

Like on this target. I think I have some UN Blue paint left. Need to go check.

- remember that thread!!!
