95 F-150 5.8 V8 loses power when wet.

What was wrong?
Did you ever out what was wrong?
Mine is doing the exact same thing.
Runs fine every day of the week unless it's raining or I hit a puddle, then it acts like it is going to sputter and die. I keep feathering the throttle but that doesn't work and then I stomp it, and it acts like it is going to die then revs to life and takes off. I have had to quit driving her in the rain.

I learned about these going off-roading.. spent one night in the woods over a wet one.. sputtering.. didn't have enough power to k-turn or get back straight.
Trick is to pop the distributor cap off and spray WD-40. Next time off-roading.. I got the spudder right after huge puddle.. popped cap off WD-40.
The next day I took cap off and put a bead of clear silicone around the cap. 2 Sundays ago I ended up sinking the truck.. water up to the floor of the cab and didn't get no damn sputter at all.
The distributor is most likely the problem.. but check the spark plug wires for cracks or ARCs at night and check the coil.
Also.. try to re-create the problem on a clear day. Spray water from underneath at the distributor and try to run it up the street. If its spuddering, there's your issue.
Also reminds me.. grandmas van started doing this.. and it's raining today. Was supposed to fix it last week.. but clutch went out while sank.. Took chick's advice and left it running so water don't suck up tail pipe.. but that also burnt out the clutch in less than an hour.
