1995 F-150 5.0L, 5 spd (ZF S542)

Noticed the other day that the brake lights weren't coming on... after testing it seems they do if I push down the pedal hard.

I replaced the brake pedal switch. Same issue.

If I manually rotate the switch up to make contact, the lights come on.

Does anyone have a diagram of the parts for that brake assembly so I can see if I'm maybe missing a bushing or something?

There were just two white plastic pushrod spacers & the pin when assembling the switch, I didn't see any bushing.

I think I might be missing the bushing, will go to auto parts store after work.

Otherwise the brakes feel/ seem fine, so I don't think it's the booster.

I guess if the bushing doesn't fix the issue, I could try installing a spring as the other thread mentioned.

 

I wouldn`t think you need a booster either. Pity the guy with the spring fix didn`t get a pic up.
