Need advice on bench seat upholstary

Hie you all.
I am in the buisness of having my bench seat re-upholstered, however I have problem deciding what pattern I want the most.
The sides will be in black leather and the middle in a dark grey, slightley shiny wool cloth.

The stiching will have the same color as the dark grey cloth.

Well start voting

Thanks Jimmy

Talking

When we do seats like that we stay pretty traditional and number 4 is the best by far. It will always look good.

# 4 as well. These old trucks were not fancy, just functional. Fancy truck = new truck. JMHO

I say the seat of #3 and the back of #4
1 less seam to wear out, and gets that seam out from underneath your thigh rubbing you in a bad spot.

It was some cloth that was on the upholsterer's shelf; nylon material as I recall, other than that I don't know, I don't believe it was a OEM material.

I agree with Bryan, the seam you show on the back and bottom would be irritating, the one where you bring the vinyl/leather onto the seating surface.

The only thing I'd do different if I had to do it over would be to incorporate headrests. After I had mine re-done, I was hit from behind at a stoplight in a truck with no headrests. My neck will never be the same, it hurts every day.

Thanks for all the feedback.

I had almost decided to go with #2 when I started hesitating on # 3.
Now I am even more confused.

Do you really think the seems will be that irritating. It´s only a truck going a 500-600 miles each year

ALBUQ f-1:

When I saw your bench seat on google pictures I really wanted a bench seat like that, but I dont want to be a copy cat and started to to some changes, and this seems to end up me being even more confused.

???????

Not likely anyone is going to see our trucks side-by-side, who cares if they have similar patterns?! I bet there are thousands with a similar pattern - because it works!

The curvature of the seat cushions will tend to push the seams out. It would bug me.
