Ok we got going, mostly Mason doing all the work with me helping if he gets stuck.

core support mounting points

core support

other side

new core support from ebay source.

disconnecting the TTB for removal

anyone looking for almost new f250 coils and very new shocks?

The aftermarket core support fits great and seems very well built. Gonna go look at some CL used parts this weekend.

Stay tuned....

forget this one. Hockey puck spacer with new washers, bolt and nut per out best guess at the proper height.

Why didn't you just get new bushings and sleeves?

Did you pain the new core support before it went on?

We painted the areas that are unaccessable and where it rusted out before.

Used what we had on hand and saved about $100. Can't see any negative effects for doing so.

This build will be a function follows form.

How many of them did you use per side? That is a brilliant idea! Where did you get the pucks at?

there is just one puck and some washers to bring the core support off the frame mounts up to 1 1/2". We had the pucks, its Minnesota the hockey state. Get them pretty mucj anywhere sporting goods are sold.

That does make sense about the Minnesota part! Did you just use big washers and grade 8 bolts and lock nuts?

Also how big of bolts did you use?

Its been a while but we back working on the axle swap. The reason for the delay is the Mason starting work for a gas pipeline company and works out of town all week. Plus he bought this for himself. 2014 GT Premium now i want one, it is 6 speed manual with the glass roof and leather recaro seats.

We did get the rebuild done on the new to us 79 dana 44. Complete with trac-loc and 4.10's, Skyjacker 4" soft ride springs, all new seals and ball joints. Milemarker premium hubs and new calipers and rotors.

Hope to have it under the truck next weekend since he has a rare 3 day weekend for labor day holiday.

Wow, cool thread and cool truck!! Just read this thread from start to finish. It's great to see you guys working on this together! Others have said similar things, but the memories he'll have later (and you too!) will likely be worth more than the truck itself ever will.

All of that aside, you guys are doing a great job rebuilding this truck!! Looks like you had a fair starting point to work from, but it's great to see people keeping these older trucks on the road instead of scrapping them!

Keep up the good work! I'll be watching and gleaning what I can.
