My latest parts score!

Sorry, but I have to brag.

I was looking at a 91 F350 CC dually with a Banks Sidewinder to fix and sell for a profit. It turns out the truck was in rough condition and the IP and timing gear cover was removed along with a bunch of other stuff. The seller decided to part it out, so I made offers on a lot of things.

Banks kit
E4OD and TC that look rebuilt
gauge cluster, speedo cable and trim
Fuel filter housing and brackets
Vac pump and brackets
injection pump (expected to be no good), timing gear and cover
injector hard lines
GP controller and harness
Other odds and ends that I am forgetting.

All for $600 !!

I'm probably get a few more things from the seller. He's going to drop off the exhaust system to me in the next week or two when he is in the area. I'll try to get some more parts like A/C, lights, wiring etc.

Russ, your rain guards will be coming with the exhaust when the seller delivers it. The screws on it looked looked good, so I'll send those as well. We ran out of daylight trying to pull that damn downpipe on the Banks.

The truck is rust free, so if any of you rust-belters want body parts, let me know. The truck is in Texas, so think about shipping options as that cost will be your responsibility.

Parts pr0nz will be posted tomorrow when the sun comes out! Stay tuned.

The most impressive thing of the night was when the seller's buddy (works as a roughneck at the oil fields) just bends down, picks up the E4OD and sets it in the bed of my truck. I was shocked at how strong that guy was.

Here are a few pictures of the parts in the bed of my truck. I'll be adding more pictures once I start going through everything.

Tail end of high school two of us swapped out a 4 cylinder in a K-car....no hoist or come-along, we pulled it, and put the new one in by hand. Wouldn't even dream of it now!!

If you can, I'd try to grab the oil cooler out of it too, seems we may be having a shortage of them on the board these days.

I was going to grab it along with many other things but we ran out of daylight. I might just have to make another trip over there and grab the rest of it.

it is the Recon / Transtar converter then.
Recon Torque Converter E4OD 4R100 Lock-Up FM64D | eBay
http://www.autorepairmanual.biz/product/FM64D
so it's not exactly a real HD unit.it's likely better than stock anyway plus it is low stall they say.
id swap it in.i bet you'll notice and love the lower stall.
could mean low stall as being same as diesel stock stall setting is though.whatever "110k" represents.hmmm.

That looks like it. I'll have to look up what stall is because I'm new to drive train stuff.

After all the work involved in pulling that damn thing out, I don't see me installing it in my truck right away. At least not without a better way to support the tranny. If that thing falls, there is no way in hell I'll be able to get it back up there to reinstall.

Would anyone guess that the E4OD was rebuilt just by looking at it? The fluid was a little dark but maybe there is a break-in period? It supposedly only has 1200 miles on it but the truck came from a contracting company and the kids liked to beat on it. Still, if the tranny is in good working condition, I can't see why it would be affected just because some kid had a heavy foot.
