1993 ford f 250 supercap 2x4 with a 7.3dsi diesel

I have a 1993 ford f250 with a 7.3 dsi diesel. run fine up until yesterday. i went out in the morning to go to work to. i put the key in the ignition without turning it and the starter activated.
At this point i have replaced the fender wall solenoid as well as the solenoid on the starter took the ignition switch out from under the dash, took it to the part store they told me it didn't smell burnt therefore it was good i did not buy the new ignition switch however, am at a loss at this point for at least now the starter don't activate until i turn the key to wait for the glow plugs. At a loss in Michigan, any help would be appreciated.

Find another parts store, those guys are idiots. Ignition switches wear out from years of having a key inserted and removed, I've never seen one "burn up". It's possible that its somehow getting stuck in the "start" position. I'm assuming you mean "7.3 IDI diesel" btw.

rite it is a 7.3 idi diesel i was referring to the ignition control module under the dash. i have not tried to replace the ignition switch itself yet however, i am under the understanding there is actually no power going to the ignition switch it self until it activates the ignition control module am i wrong in this assumption.

The ignition cylinder is what the key goes into. It is connected by linkage to the actual ignition switch, located further down the steering column. It has a large electrical connector on it...

incorrect. You probably have a bad ignition switch or the linkage that activates it is broken.

I just had the opposite problem. Turn the key all the way to the start position and it would only glow the plugs. I jumpered the fender mounted solenoid to get it started.
After a week of jumpering it, it was time to pull the steering column apart. Turned out to be the cast aluminum linkage in the column was broken.
